This is the image for the ad for this week's Safeway ad:

No variable load is the biggest issue, but buying a fixed price VGC you get back a 10 dollar coupon for your next purchase at safeway. So, get a 200 dollar fixed card - makes the most sense. The coupon is 10 dollars for a 10 dollar purchase.

The coupon is 10 back on your next 10 dollar purchase. Some parlay it into another GC purchase, but that was when the coupon NEVER stated to the contrary. Not sure if the new coupons have been fixed to exclude VGC or the usual suspects (alcohol, milk, eggs, etc.)

On fixed priced GC? Tell them they are full of it and ask to see the manager. I have heard that about many a card there, like ReloadIt and the Univision and free cards, but the fixed priced 100/200 VGC HAVE ALWAYS been allowed. Ask again - it should be fine.

The main con to this idea is the low denomination (IE a pain to unload, unless u can use evolve) and the fact that safeway sells really expensive priced food, so the 4 bux you save does not go a long way - barely break even, but it works.
