I'm sure I'm not the only one, but this is why most of our conversations end with a snarky reply from you.
Do you mean a snarky reply like this?
You really missed the boat.
I’d actually attribute that to you falsely accusing me of being misleading or you making up positions of mine and then backing away when called out for it, most of the time.
In truth, the reason is simple. You and the OP both have a narrative that you like running with, which involves bashing people who post facts as fear mongers and mocking anyone who is prudent and cautious as living in fear. Questioning the efficacy of masks while claiming they are dangerous, pretending that the lockdown really killed more people than COVID which was actually just doctors, etc. When someone posts facts that contradict that narrative, you resort to calling it a narrative and willfully ignoring them. But should chas vesholom someone be seen as questioning your narrative, you’ll lash out, facts be darned.
The reason I answer is not to get you ch’v, or to win an argument. Most of our arguments have been won before we debate. The reason is so that the thousand of silent others who view our discussions should be able to sort through and see which are facts and which are opinions.
It feels good to pretend you have the high ground, right? I’m done.
I agree. I'm all for having open and respectful conversations, discussions, and even arguments. But the key is respect. Snarkiness has no place here (or anywhere).
