What's type of squirrel guard? Does it work for squirrels?
Whoever has had success with goldfinches lately, please post what food you use (brand, etc), and what feeder. Thanks
I use this and this. My finches didn't seem to go for the other brands of seed.I do find that I have less goldfinches in the summer than the other three seasons for some reason.
Thanks.I have this feederhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HHHEAA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_2zOaFbVJATSHZAnd this foodhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002AQQTW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_XAOaFb5G5SHA0 I'll try changing the food first.
I've had those socks hanging for around 2 weeks. Nothing doing. Maybe there are no wild finches in brooklyn... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I've been using this, and they seem to like it, however the past couple of weeks they are also very interested in the Black Oiled Sunflower Seeds we have in the hopper. Also, the House Finches by us love the bag and eat from it all day long.ETA: House Finch (Male) on Bag
We have no shortage of house finches. Sometimes 10 at a time.
beautiful!were are you guys located?any point doing this in brooklyn?
I have a friend in Boro Park who I got into this. He put up a feeder a week ago and he's already had woodpeckers, house finches, goldfinches, cardinals, and tons of others. You'd be surprised.
Lots of others in this thread are having great success in Brooklyn.
Keep in mind it could take a week or 2 until your yard get added to the "Twitter" of birds and you start noticing visitors.
where can i buy feeding stuff?
