Signing up for a card is not a life-time contract barring me from ever cancelling the card.
However, signing up for e-statements with the

You've made at least three unfounded assumptions:
1) Because I have miles, I must be unethical.
2) Because I have miles, I must be a churner.
3) Because I travel somewhat often, I must have loads of miles.
