It's probably written by someone not as fluent as you and I. The Rapides Parish, LA yeshiva system isn't all that strong, I'm guessing..

Only the wonky mem bothered you? How about that it says "brochah habo'oh" instead of "bruchah." (For my "haimisher" friends, that's "bruchah" instead of "brichah.")

It just hit me! That's why they thought it was an ISIS sign. That's no Mem, it's a Samach, and the last letter is a Sof! (יסית)

She's a great writer. I've read her stuff in a few different publications. Still, I think she exaggerates about the obsession with externalities.

I am glad that this problem (I'm sure it's exaggerated) doesn't exist in a big fashion (pun intended) in the more Chasiddish world.
