Because refunds can take a few weeks to process and it's a vile thing to do without allowing adequate time and making a follow-up call.

not much, just emails from expedia/priceline of original ticketscancellation and refund promise was done by phone
Can you get Expedia/Priceline to email you a statement about that cancellation?
When I cancelled my tickets over the phone with ElAl I got an email from Expedia notifying me that my reservation was cancelled.
Finally got my refund. Got in touch with a really helpful ElAl agent. If anyone is still struggling to get their refund let me know and I can pass along her number.
