Doesn't matter what u intended. It matters what manufacturer intended and how you word the original claim and what the receipt says. At this point it's probably too late
He never filed any claim all he did was pick up the phone and ask them if it's covered and they said no, so if he can manage to pull a good story he can hit the jackpot, or if he manages to get a decent rep willing to do it for him! If I were him I would tell over that sob story about the duty free rep packing them all in one bag and I asked to have separate bags, and she refused and as a result they broke, go for the charge if the claim doesn't work, fight the charge, as I shouldn't pay for an item as the store packed it horrible, same way you call amazon to tell them how horrible they pack there dishwasher soap which explodes all over the box.
