Sounds like the guy redeemed a standard award. Or doesn't know what a colossal amount of miles is :D
For a miles blogger, I don't get why he wouldn't say how many miles it is. Can you tell me?

what a fresser,

I'd say a big part of enjoying J or F class is eating all that delicious food, I'm not embarrassed to say that I get really envious when looking around when flying J

Yep. This past trip I had a kashrus quandary in Asiana F with the Wagyu peppercorn filet.

Also, the SIN-FRA-JFK route isn't terrible KY difficult for one pax.

If I want to go with my wife and baby on SQ suites, what is the best way to avoid paying 10% of full fare. Would I be able to buy a suite for me and my baby and an economy for my wife, but have her join us? Or will they not let her with us in the suite?

No pax ticketed in a lower cabin can sit (or officially even visit) a higher cabin.

The only way to get suites is to book via SQ.

Do you know what the lap cost is from JFK-FRA? Over 1k? And there's no way around that if there are only two seats available in suites, right?

I don't know the cost for lap-child on that route, but if there are 2 seats in Suites, there shouldn't be any issue with your bringing your baby on as a lap-child as well. No need for a third seat.

No need, and I don't mind paying the YQ, but I would mind paying e.g., 2k to bring him as a lap-child. So I'd rather, if possible (though it seems it isn't), book suites for him and me, economy for my wife, and when going onto the aircraft (or after they scan her ticket) have my wife hold my sons ticket so they let her into suites. Maybe they won't be as strict if she holds him.

When I flew in suites class, they asked me if I want to invite anyone on the plane over for dinner, and I had a friend that was seated in Y come over for dinner.  (i won't do that again, as his eyes were popping out the whole time :P)

Quoted a $ infant fare online at $450 in suites from JFK-FRA. Not horrible. Hmmm. That or the EL J flight to DUB I'm booked on  for 25k miles * 2.1.

You can't find it for awards but can for revenue fares. I'm guessing they'll be close or the same.

-1 CMIIW I believe that an infant can only be added over the phone where they charge you 10% of the regular fare which ranges up to $14,000.

One way to fra? I believe the infant fare on revenue flights is also 10% but I could be wrong. Reg fare was 4500 on the dates I quoted.

The paid fare online is a discounted fare the agents on the phone use the over the pone fare to book infants on award bookings which is 2 to 3 times the price of the online fares.

Do you know what the lap cost is from JFK-FRA? Over 1k?

I paid $415 for my baby.

And it's worth it, they treat babies very nice.
Big comfy bassinet with a miniature SQ flight toy for the baby to play with... and they even arranged kosher baby formula!

Tough to beat SQ service.
Love me or hate me. I still love you.
