New iphone 15 pro… The next best camera?

Just wondering if the iphone 15 pro with a 48mp camera is amazing? We use a smartphone currently for trips and general pictures, is this like an incredible camera or its not that much different form any other iphone camera? Currently using 12pro

I'm on my third pixel (OG, 3a, and now 6). I've always gotten amazing compliments on the pictures I take with my pixel phones. I feel like it's more the software than the camera itself, but whatever it is, I love the pictures it takes!

I have often thought about switching to iPhone only because the rest of my family is on it, but the camera and software keeps me with pixel, even though I often get overheating and battery drain issues.

Yes but like I said we only use a smartphone for pictures and travel, so that discussion is a separate conversation for those that are debating a phone they use all the time.

Picture quality is great on all above mentioned phones, it usually comes down to personal taste. Do you care for night shots? Zoomed shots? Portrait mode?
A lot people say you'd get a better average photo with an iPhone but you can get better specific photos with others.
I don't think many argue that iPhone has better video though.

We’ve done mountains, city, Alaska, boats, all the different types of scenery. We need a good all around camera that can be reliable for capturing feeding monkeys in panama, getting good shots of buildings on a horse ride in Vienna, and being able to get good video and pics of a mountain when flying by in a plane. And of course, taking good pictures at night would be needed as well but I feel that is already a whole different aspect of a camera

right we bought a go pro before alaska and it was amazing, but a phone is much better for point and shoot i feel like. For videos the go pro is amazing, but also a go pro is another item to bring that we dont *always* want to have on us

Probably a level up but I doubt as significant as they make it. I think the main thing people like is the default resolution of the pictures is double the megapixels (24) vs most phones bin down to 12. I have no first hand experience BH

Many phones today have the "best" camera. It really comes down to personal preference.
