MacBook Pro screen replacement

Any ideas how much to replace a cracked 13.3 MacBook Pro screen? Apple store vs. independent? Any good mail in places?

If you dont have apple protection then it will be significantly cheaper going to a third party (make sure that this is something they specialize in - not someone who decided that he can google and figure anything out) . Are you sure it is only the screen?

Yeah, just the glass. Protection only applies to defective hardware. Not defective people ;-) (It was dropped).

I've done it myself in the past several times. Ifixit.com provides excellent step by step instructions.

If you don't want to do it on your own, search ebay for "macbook screen repair". there are sellers there that do it as a mail-in service.

Thanks! I've been told that it is quite easy to self fix. The question is, does it all come out looking the same whether you follow the fixit instructions or send it in somewhere.
