I guess it becomes like ashrei to some people.
And tachnun I have the same problem
With tachnun I realized just lately it's a specific person who usually finishes on mon/thursday before I'm halfway done, I came to conclusion he only says every third or 2nd word.
Something I never understood. Every shul ever, no matter the background rushes by
B"H I'm not the crazy one around here. It's good to feel normal again.
.
Not every shul but most. Also Aleinu
Yes aside for the young Israel minyan, then they make me feel like I skipped half of it, as I'm never the one waiting I'm always the one falling behind.
And then when you're at the amud and say it all, you can feel everyone going "nuuu" with their eyes...
Lol, very true.
I usually try to daven at a normal paced speed where noone should be complaining, and if there's is one or two nut jobs I just let them be and finish the davening like a mentch.
(I don't like a slow minyan either but not where they say only the 2nd word for each tiffilah).
+1. This and the last bracha of Hallel. Somehow every chazzan ever can say that last bracha at least double as fast as I can.
It seems it's when there's a very long tiffilah and finally after all the singing and shaking of the lulav they feel the urge to fly through it.
Won't even start with Alainu where sometimes the chazzon just says the last paragraph without saying the body of the text of alaynu, a very beautiful tiffilah the very last one and unfortunate how many skip it or rattle it off like it's a burden on them.
As a chiyuv once told me "until borchu, no matter how slow I go I'm waiting for the minyan to catch up. After shemonah esrei, no matter how fast I daven, they're all ahead of me."
ADHD takes time to kick in.
Time for containers of Adderall, Ritalin to be placed in the shuls.
The key is to daven out loud the entire Davening at a decent pace. You'll invariably have people with you, and no need to check on the minyan status.
Like most sefardic minyanim.
And those who are in a rush leave early.
