Why not TK? Plenty of Jews fly TK regularly. It's the most efficient way to get to Russia nowadays. And unlike MS which is a 3rd class airline, while TK isn't a ME3 or Asian airline, it's definitely on par with UA, and LH group airlines.

I've made a personal rule to never give a dime to a turkish company. Never flew with them, even when there was wide open J for 34k to the US from Israel

With erdogan's comments about Israel, and he openly welcoming hamas etc, I think it's not wise to transit in turkey these days

I don't see a problem transiting IST. Erdoğan is indeed a problem. I might be biased, but I try to separate most Turkish people and Turkey from Erdoğan.

Also, if you need to fly to Russia, and your option is a 15-16 hour journey via Istanbul vs a 20-26 hour journey using other options, which one do you choose?

With shades of gray. Not everything is black and white. As I said, THY was there before Erdoğan and will exist past him, the same goes for Turkey.

His support is mostly outside of large cities. His candidates lost in major cities. He is mostly detested in Istanbul.
