I upgraded my card from gold to platinum and received a bonus. I did so mid last year and the Af was prorated. Now I received a new annual fee for $695. I would like to close the card but I am concerned that because it still with in 12 months of receiving the bonus Amex will claw back the bonus. Is it safe to close? Any advice would be appreciated

No, you need to wait 12 months.

Does the Dell, airline and CLEAR credits count against the min spend for SUB?

From t&c it states "Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits.

so if i spend $15,000 but amex credits me $589 for those purchases, thereby only owing amex $14,411 - will i qualify for the SUB or not?

They count towards spend.

My platinum card anniversary is upcoming and I am likely not keeping it. However, I have not yet decided.

Do I need to downgrade before I get hit with the AF? Or do I have some time afterwards (say 30 days) to do that?

Why do you have to transfer it out? You don’t have any other AMEX card without an AF?

They will refund the annual fee on a card if you cancel it within 30 days of the closing date of the billing statement on which the fee appears

my AF has hit..have until mid feb to pay technically. i got retention last year so prob not going to get this year. if i dont, are there any no language apps that i can sign up for? i can prob apply for the business version but rather get the personal as i can actually get real value from it.

i guess an alt plan would be to get the CS PLAT? no minimum spend to open an account? i know theres another one that slips my mind?

would appreciate the help on this!

if i make a pre paid fhr purchase and then shortly downgrade or cancel that card, will that credit still stand ? will amex rat take action?
