Having multiple AMEX Plat or Gold Cards Simultaneously??

I applied for an Amex plat in april. cancelled it beginning of April - after sucking out every ounce of juice i could get from them.
i then reapplied for the amex about 2-3 weeks after canceling.
when i checked my status online, it said "application cancelled". so i called and they explained that since i have an open card - they cancelled it.
i explained that it has been closed since, and i reapplied cuz i reconsidered the benefits blah blah... rep said they'll reevaluate.
again today i noticed it cancelled, so i called again for explenation. and rep says that they see i got all the benefits, and then cancelled. so, the most they can do is reopen the card without any promo benefis.

anyone think  if they "reopen" the card - is there a chance i might still get the points? or is there anything to lose by reopening?
 theres (at least...) 51k MR points at stake!

that seems to be the way its going if you reapply within 30/60 days . Why risk it wait a little and then there will probably be enough of a break to be able to get a new one.

applied and canceled beginning of April is that a Typo. If you canceled in the beginning of April I will assume you never got the 100K match. Try to offer to reinstate it and get the match , I did that and others reported that too.

Just applied and was approved for the gold, having 7 Amex cards - Personal 2 SPG & Gold, Biz Plat, Delta plat, SPG & gold -  Most of the cards have been around and used for a long time, not just for the bonuses.

I had applied and it got canceled . So I was dealing with reconsideration at 18663140237, not sure if that is the correct # to call for straight up reinstatement.

so i did wait 60 days between applications.

They stopped that I believe.... I tried several times around Pesach time for people and they said that as of end of March beginning of April they dont do downgrades unless you have had the account for 13 months.... and I was told that by probably over a dozen CSR's, I tried a lot.....

Has anyone had success downgrading recently?

Anybody have answer regarding downgrading from Platinum to Zync?

i did 3 at once but one i screwed up didnt put full info on so it didnt get processed but got 2 approvals on one pull no F/R

I did 25k (Premier Rewards) Gold and 25k Platinum.

If you open a gold while having the plat and then close the plat can i transfer MR to the gold and get my full refund on the plat (60 days)

Welcome , you dont need to transfer as long as you have the gold open your points are safe
