Was curious about the potential novelty of winning, losing, and then running again. As far as I can tell, only one person won the presidency, lost his bid for re-election, and then ran again the next election. That was Grover Cleveland, who one the election in 1884, lost in 188, and ran again in 1892. PS - he won that 3rd election.
