Theres a reason they're using GroupMe over WhatsApp...
Not sure what you mean by '9', but yes. The way it works is that say you're the 'teacher'. When you send out a message to everyone (called an announcement) everyone gets it. If someone replies, you receive that reply from a different phone number that turns into a distinct phone number for conversations between you and that individual. No one else can see it. If you want to have all in a conversation a distinct number is created for full-group conversation. So basically, if you are a teacher with, say, 13 'students' there can be 15 phone number associated with this account. 1 one-way number, from you to the group (only). 13 two-way numbers, between you and each individual separately. 1 two-way number for entire group conversations.
I played around with all settings and was able to include only 9 others( aside from me) in a group conversation where evreyone can see others replies.
is there a way to schedule a daily reminder text at the same time using remind or a similar platform?
IFTTT can likely do that for you (https://ifttt.com/)
@lubaby do u have a specific applet in mind . i didnt see any applets that have the option for group text
GroupMe.If = Date & Time,Then = GroupMe (post message to group).Contacts do not need to create GroupMe accounts (or even have the app), they just receive your GroupMe message via regular SMS.Download the app and make a test group to try it out. Very simple straight-forward process.
option there for daily?
Yes, you can do daily as "Every day at", or just pick specific days as "Every day of the week at" (if you don't want it to run on weekends).Time can be selected in 15 minute buckets (so :00, :15 etc.).
thanx so much looks like it works !
There's also a app from Google "Allo" you have to create the group within the app. Works like groupme
