שמעתי שיש שמנסים למצוא חלילה קשר בין המסיבה ברֵעים לטבח הנורא שהתרחש באותה מסיבה. הקשר דתי כביכול, שתולה ומוצא הסבר וצידוק דתי חס ושלום ל״עונש״ שמגיע אולי למשתתפים.
כעת נחשף הסיפור האמיתי!

בשמחת תורה, לפני שבעים שנה, התקיימה בסמוך לבית מדרשו של הרבי מלובביץ׳ מסיבה!
היו ריקודים, חגיגה ושמחה.
מבחינת המשתתפים (היהודים) הייתה זו מסיבה ככל המסיבות.
אין לה קשר לשמחת תורה, ואף ההיפך… זו מסיבה לא דתית ולא ׳כשרה׳.
הרבי ישב בתוך בית המדרש, בהתוועדות, בעיצומו של יום קדוש כיום שמחת תורה והתחיל להסביר מה באמת קורה שם בחוץ:
הבעל שם טוב אומר שכשאדם חש רעב או חשק למשהו, זו לא באמת הנפש הבהמית והגוף שרוצים את המשהו. זו הנפש האלוקית שמזהה ניצוץ אלוקי שנמצא בתוך המשהו, והיא מזהה שזה תפקידה כעת לתקן ולגלות את האלוקי הזה - כדי שתהיה לה האפשרות לעשות זאת, היא גורמת לגוף הגשמי לחוש חשק לאותו משהו, הגוף אוכל וחושב שזה בגלל הרעב בבטן, ולא יודע שהרעב בבטן מקורו ברעב נשמתי (זה יכול להיות גם לשלילה, הרעב נועד כדי להתגבר עליו, במקרה של אוכל לא כשר וכדומה).
אמר הרבי: אותם יהודים שרוקדים עכשיו בחוץ במסיבה, הם *חושבים* שהם הגיעו אליה כי בא להם לרקוד ולהתפרק. הם *לא יודעים* שבאמת הנשמה שלהם רצתה לרקוד בשמחת תורה - החשק הזה עבר מייד לגוף.
הגוף, משום שהוא גשמי ונחות, מסוגל להוציא את זה לפועל בתור ריקוד לא כשר ולא קדוש. אבל האמת שמאחורי החגיגה היא הנשמה היהודית שרקדה בשמחת תורה.

אני חושב שאין מה להוסיף בכלל.
שלושת אלפים יהודים ויהודיות רקדו בשמחת תורה במסיבה בקיבוץ רעים (המילה רֵעים מזכירה את ״שַׂמֵּחַ תְּשַׂמַּח רֵעִים אֲהוּבִים״, המילים שמדברות על החתן והכלה תחת חופתם, מה שכמובן יכול להתפרש בהקשר הזה כמדבר על החתן-הקב״ה והכלה-היהודים).
שלושת אלפים נשמות שהתגעגעו כל כך לרקוד ולחגוג בשמחת התורה! הם חגגו ושמחו ומתוך השמחה הזו הגיעו בני בליעל והעלו אותם על המוקד. על קידוש השם.
השם יקום דמם! במהרה נחגוג ונרקוד איתם בשמחת הגאולה השלמה שתבוא בקרוב ממש על ידי משיח צדקנו.
It’s a beautiful thought but it applies to the עגל הזהב and all other tragic events in Tanach as well. These were certainly lost souls yearning for something meaningful to fill a lack in their lives. They genuinely wanted peace and love, and to connect with nature and themselves.
But trying to create this sort of equivocacy and implying that there was some form of holiness there and using the words קיבוץ רעים to somehow connect this to Hashem is a distortion. They were dancing to a giant Buddha, on a shabbos, high on meth, ecstasy and other heavy drugs, featuring גילוי עריות, many engaged in תועבה relationships or with non halachic Jews. It certainly is reasonable to look at the worst massacre in Eretz Yisrael in centuries (and the worst that כלל ישראל has seen in almost 80 years) taking place at a giant Avoda Zara celebration on Shabbos Simchas Torah and say this is NOT a coincidence.
Yes one can say that עריות and עבודה זרה are simply misplaced אהבה for Hashem, and there is truth to it. Yes, one can say that the yearning to be free from societies constraints, and to be high on drugs come from misplaced yearnings of the neshama that are subconsciously misinterpreted. But that is the underpinning of any aveira that any Jew ever did, from the עגל to the בעל, from the worst of the מלכי ישראל שאין להם חלק וכו׳ to the biggest פושעי ישראל in every דור.
In שמים there is certainty a לימוד זכות of רצוננו לעשות רצונך ומי מעכב שעור שבעיסה וכו׳. Here on earth we are horrified by the expression of absolute רע on this earth and the animal like creature of prey and cruelty human beings can become. We mourn and cry for the victims perhaps as those who died על קידוש השם.
We ח״ו don’t point with smug self satisfaction at the victims as if we are all good and they “had it coming to them”. We take it as a message meant for us and try to improve and strengthen our own areas that need improvement, particularly in areas above that apply to each of us in our own way. חילול שבת may not mean driving a car for us; it may mean needing to focus more on the קדושה of the day. Avoda Zara may mean working on putting our bitachon more in Hashem rather than our boss, connections, skill set, business acumen etc.
It’s also an opportune time to reach out to those who are far from Hashem with warmth and help them find their way back; as a result of the tragic event there is a התעוררות among many like there hasn’t been in some time.
The sentiment expressed above, however, is way off the mark.
