A live Davening has a beating heart hence constantly changing type sizes.
IINM the Rebbe was pro that as well.
How did the practice of The Rebbe giving out dollars come about? It’s interesting because chassidim FWIU generally had to give money to the Rebbe. Did Lubavitch not have that practice before that?
chassidim FWIU generally considered it a zchus to give money to the Rebbe.

Whole I don't agree with everything they write, they did a very thorough job on presenting the history of Dollars and Maamed.
Very interesting. So it appears that they did have that practice but the Rebbe literally turned it around. Not only did he instruct that the money for the Kuppa should not be used for the Rebbe personally as it used to be done with previous Rebbes, he started given money to the Chassidim directly! As a non Chossid, the Rebbe's מהלך and the reasons he gave for it resonate with me.
it's good to be a Lubavitcher
Dollars was not giving money to Chassidim. It was giving a bill to be used for tzedaka
My impression is that many held onto it though.
They substituted the dollar for another.
