I am new to the dansdeals forums and had a question regarding the multiple browser method.  I applied for two chase cards (Sapphire and Freedom) using two different browsers.  Both were declined initially due to too many recent cards being open (I did open a Continental and United card in the past few months).  It worked insofar as I only got one pull (which was apparently done for the Sapphire), but when I called reconsideration regarding the Freedom card, I was told they would need to do an additonal hard pull.  I asked if they could use the credit pull done for the sapphire, but they said no.  Should I keeping pushing this or just let them do the additional pull?

Probably didn't know what they're talking about, assuming your card is simply being pushed through. There might have been something else which you sorted out when you called them. What exactly happened when you called?

Did 2 browser applications; CO and Sapphire(obviously using Dan's links). One pull on Equifax(I really ought to freeze it due to numerous inquiries(12 more than TU)) and both were denied.
Talking to recon was a bit grueling, but it paid off B"H.

The CSR that answered the call was grilling me on my finances and only gave me the option of closing an old account, which I really didn't want to do(my second cc on history). She also denied my request to just move a significant line of credit from it to the new card(s).

 I asked for a supervisor(for whom English was a first language) and she fulfilled my request and approved the CO.
 I didn't want to try my luck with the Sapphire yet(still keeping the reference #).
When I was asked why I'm applying for more credit I simply answered that the benefits were appealing to me.

Nope, but they are notorious for hitting all three bureaus.

On the phone its quite annoying not to know what the guy is talking about till after I read it. While spiffster is quite a pro at this and has obviously been commenting (in general) longer than many of us, I think when in Rome do as... applies over here

Funny...  Reading on he phone is specifically why I continue to top post/bottom quote more often than not.  It's such a pita re-reading something i've already read before I get to the actual post.  It's soooooo much quicker.

If you want a success story of one phone call I recently got the CO and Sapphire approved in one phone call. I was denied on both. After CSR recon approved me on the CO she sounded like someone you could butter up so I asked for the Sapphire. She said we only do one every 30 days but let me see what I could do. And she came back with an approval.

I just called recon after getting "too many requests" (I did a triple browser 3 weeks after applying for BA too). They approved my Sapphire but not the UA and CO. I want to call back for the other ones. Anyone know if they can see automatically that I was just reconned for the sapphire and not the other ones?
