I’m having bad back pain from sitting all day at my computer. I just bought an adjustable standing desk. Are the Herman Miller chairs really good? Is it worth the money? Thank you
Sometimes a chiropractor can give you other suggestions and that bit of advice will cost a lot less than a Herman Miller chair.
Personally, I went to a chiropractor and he had me get someone to take pictures of me working and saw that I was supporting some of my weight on my armrests which was preventing me from sitting with my back straight. I unscrewed the armrests from my chair and within a week my back and neck were feeling 80% better. I miss the armrests a bit but my back and neck are better.
Obviously everyone's issues are different and you may not find a solution that way but 1 visit to a chiropractor for advice might be a worthwhile investment before splurging on a HM chair. (Beware that once you're in his office a chiropractor might try to get you to come back for another 10 visits, but you can always politely decline.)
ETA: Screen height/distance and keyboard/mouse placement and habits can also be game changers. A good chiropractor should be able to give you suggestions for all these things.
