Original is Friendship from Lost in Lazerland. It was subsequently released on Aish 2 as Birchas Habayis.
Aha! I've heard it on Aish 2! I must have been having a mental block. Thanks!

My mention of the Baruch Levine Classics medley on Chasan HaTorah reminded me of a review I wrote a while back on his fifth album, in which I noted that I wished for him to made a sequel of that medley, and I even wrote the songs I would include. I'll post it here, but keep in mind that this was written a number of years ago, so additional songs may be in play now  - and excuse my more-juvenile writing style...  ;)

Quote
On Baruch’s second album, Chasan Hatorah, the CD ended with a track entitled Baruch Levine Classics. It included five of Baruch’s songs, some of them well known and some not, which were already sung by other singers. It was a great opportunity for us to learn some of Baruch’s nicest songs that just didn’t get picked up their first time around. As each of Baruch’s subsequent albums were released, I held my breath thinking that perhaps there’ll be a Baruch Levine Classics 2. I even had my own list of songs that I thought would be perfect for such a compilation. (My list included “Ohavti” from Shea Rubenstein, “Shir Haparnasa” from Ohad 3, “Retzei” that was sung by YisroelWerdyger on Oorah’s Shmorg, “Shabbos Hayom Lashem” from Gertner 2, and my all-time Baruch Levine favorite, “Yigdal” from Shloime Kaufman’s Ahavas Tzedaka.) Alas, it has not come to fruition. Maybe next time.

But Aish 2 came out in 2010, two years after Chasan HaTorah

No. Aish 2 came out around 2003.

Interesting. However they claim they give royalties.
I once asked them if they can upload a certain album and this was their response:
"Hi
We can only upload an album if we get permission from the artist we don’t know who gave out this album"

This feels positively messianic.

For context, Aviv is a secular Jew who has not exactly hidden his disdain for frum Jews in the past. Then this happened

Which led to this collaboration with Avraham Fried

"there are three other hidden Abie Rotenberg songs (sung by Abie and Rabbi Label Sharfman prior to their Dveykus collaborations) that, if rereleased now, would become instant classics."
Anyone know which songs these are?

on this topic, i kinda feel "eternity" never received it's proper due. One of my favorite abie songs.

Indeed one of my favorite songs!

It's actually co-composed by Abie and Yitzy Waldner. Lyrics by Abie's daughter, Belle Levitan.

Another Abie song that is so underrated IMO is "Somewhere a Star," about Eli Teitelbaum, which was sung at The Event.

This is stunning, is there a better recording?
Abie and MBD are one of the greatest pairings in jewish music, IMO.

The song reminds me of dedi's "Menachem", another amazing song:

Absolutley. Which is why i kinda hoped Abie would put out another journeys, and he can already be 1/3 of the way there with Eternity, Somewhere a Star and  a Small Piece of Heaven. Only sung at concert, not on any albums to my knowledge.

There is an interesting story tied to that song.

At that event, MBD was not announced as a performer, rather there was billing for a special guest star. In that video, MBD appears on video only, as that clip of Abie with MBD was shown on the screen in the theater, and was not live. Later at the event, MBD walked in, prompting tremendous applause. The video of Somewhere a Star was a red herring to accentuate the surprise of MBD walking in later.

(See just before the 2 minute mark)
