Can I convert a freedom to a Slate card?

Like many of us, I'm far beyond 5/24...

Also, if yes, would I be able to use the initial no-fee balance transfer period?

why would you want to do that the freedom is a much better card with no AF?

Spot on. Huge CL + 0% Apr 15mo + no fee 1st 60 days = the best short term loan you can possibly get.

Fund a bank account with a card that offers an intro 0% APR, and you've got even better.

Would anyone care to tell me exactly what the 5/24 rule says .
Seems I have avoided  it , but until I know what it says exactly, and  with when it  become effective , I will withhold my comments .

I doubt I'll get a higher CL than what I have now...

I haven't taken advantage of my freedom at all (I have very little everyday cc spend), so it isn't too important to me.

So, in the light of the 5/24 rule, is what is like to do possible?

until I know what it says exactly
The problem is that it is an unwritten rule, and the exception triggers are not yet known... I'd also love to know exactly what it is.

After about May 2015, chase started denying people's applications for personal chase branded (CSP, Freedom, and I've heard even Slate) cards. Ink cards are YMMV. That's basically what we're working with now.

Chase did not deny CSP.  I got one for my wife with a Hyatt card earlier this week , and she had both in the past 2 + years .

Explain 5 /24 please . More than 5 Chase branded cards in 24 months ?
Too vague!

More than five new accounts, in general.

I personally got 4 CoBranded cards 2 in June and 2 in  Sept .

Also  got a bunch a NON cobranded cards prior to that from Chase but nothing that would help with that timeline .

Got approx 20 cards of   ALL stripes in last 11 months .

Are you saying Chase wont give me a New  Ink next week if I try ?

Which I prolly will , and a Hyatt personal . I will  post results but according to you that wont hep anything ? Trying to be helpful but too soon to cancel CSP and ask for another  :(

I wouldn't cancel the csp unless you are %100 OK with not getting another one.

IIRC there have not been any successful reports here regarding opening the CSP with the amount of new account you've opened this year...

Ink is ymmv.

Ink is not affected by 5/24, Hyatt isn't as well,
I wouldn't cancel a csp with your application history, you probably wont get a new one, and it might be your only tunnel left to UR points, and I doubt you wanna kill that tunnel right now.

Do you mean that you've gotten a CSP for your wife who's gotten more than 5 new cards total in the past 24 months?

Please report back on that other Hyatt... Even with new FFN they declined for already having earned the bonus.

@ David Smith .my wife did not have any other cards at all in past 30 months.

Don't want to scare first time card getters ,or those who have wIted over 2 years in between
