it's a big mess now, so I would wait a bit b4 subscribing. these companies are being incentified to open solar farms, but con edison isn't following up with the credits.. basically, the whole system is backwards and messed up
(the original farm owners are 200k in debt waiting for the city or con edison to pay them back)

So it seems like there's no gain, is there a loss?

I don't know. I don't really deal with anything in New York that would meet the requirements for community solar

if you know how to google, why didn't you google the name of the charge I wrote? It's possible some companies do charge it and some don't. I don't know.
I know I used the word scam.. I didn't mean to say that this whole program is a scam.. Like I said, I myself was a subscriber and it is legit. But while legit, doesn't mean the concept isn't a scam - people making money off other people is what I call scam.

According to this document it should not apply to community solar. According to this, you would be getting charged for your solar system but not for community solar.

The CBC is calculated based on a project’s DC system size and will not apply to customers who interconnected solar PV systems before January 1, 2022, to front-of-the-meter projects such as community solar, or commercial accounts with a demand charge on their electric bill.

I didn't Google the charge because I knew it had nothing to do with community solar. We've subscribed to thousands of accounts and never heard about such charges.
