Right now I use workflowy for all my projects and tasks, except for tasks with a specific deadline (eg: my credit card closing dates), which I right now have in wunderlist and am thinking of moving to Asana.
At work I use workflowy for projects and Outlook for recurring tasks with deadlines.
I REALLY wish workflowy would do due dates. It's on their list of features they plan on working on.
What do you find better about Workflowy than about Wunderlist?
Workflowy and Wunderlist are really two categories of todo apps. Wunderlist is very linear. You have lists, lists contain tasks, and tasks can have subtasks. At that it excels (though I've found that subtasks are a little klunky to use). You can have due dates, you can have tags, reminders, etc.
Workflowy is an outliner program. One of its strengths is how easy it is to take an item, and make it into a project, by just starting a sublist under it. Workflowy makes it really easy to move things around, reorganize your thoughts / lists, and to quickly open a blank slate to map out a project. It's very intuitive. It also handles tags beautifully, making it easy to bring together items from all over.
One of the shortcomings of Wunderlist is that when starting something new, you need to decide if it's a list or an item on a list. And once you start there's no way to change it besides manually cutting/pasting. Thus there was no intuitive/enjoyable way to map out a project. This can easily and painless be done in Workflowky.
I like how Workflowy can show me items from any level in the hierarchy, just by searching for a tag. So I can tag anything with #today, and then pull them up all at once, even though some of them are basic tasks and some are deep inside a project.
I also found that once my Wunderlist got bigger, it got very slow and klunky to use and browse/review.
The biggest feature that Workflowy is missing, IMO, is due dates. So if you're looking for something to handle time based tasks, Workflowy is not it. In that situation I'd recommend Wunderlist or Asana (Wunderlist's interface is nicer and IMO more intuitive, but Asana has the advandage of handling
multiple types of recurring tasks.)
If you decide to go with Workflowy, I highly recommend browsing through their blog (and its comments), as there are lots of useful tips/tricks in there.
