Hmmm, the media tried bashing the governor of FL for letting the beaches stay open through spring break. FL had a drastic shutdown and now things are starting to reopen. For the most part parks were closed and mostly empty. Beaches were closed and enforced.

I don't care who the governor of FL is. Keeping the beaches open during spring break was a major blunder.
Now if you feel I am just saying that because he is an "R" then nothing I am going to say will change that.

Everyone hates Bumbling Bill Deblasio even the D's.

That being said I am conservative and generally vote R, yet I still think what happened in FL during spring break was a blunder. (besides the effect locally IIRC there were documented cases of people bringing corona back with them from spring break in FL and spreading it in other locations).

Spring break was not a "blunder." It was cold, calculated, and deadly. DeSantis knew that spring break would bring much needed money to a state that was already mostly shut down. He also knew that with a 7-14 day incubation period, none of those poor dumb kids would be his problem once they got sick, because they'd be back home. This really belongs cross-posted in the disillusionment thread.

See how that's not an apology? An apology is stating what you did wrong, owning up and taking responsibility, not putting the onus on the victim for "being offended". The most important part of an apology is pledging you won't make the same mistake. On the same day of his supposed apology, cops were targetting Jews.

The issue with racism isn’t words, it’s feelings that lead to words and actions. Granted I don’t “know” how he feels. But if he said something, and while “apologizing” took action that reinforces what he said, then he’s a two faced lying bigoted politician.
