I'm based in the NYC area. (Brooklyn)
I've been with Google Fi since the end of 2018. I'm extremely unsatisfied with the call quality. Many times my phone will not ring at all, and will not even show an incoming or missed call.
I can see there is an incoming call as I'm sitting by my desk and the call rings on hangouts, but doesn't ring on my phone. Sometimes my phone will ring after a good few rings on hangouts, and many many times, the call will not come thru at all! If the caller leaves a VM I'll get the VM after a few minutes.
Also, I am parking in a underground parking lot at night. I was using Verizon wireless before switching to Fi. I would drive in to the lot while on the phone, and the call would as usual. With Fi the calls are being dropped while I'm still on the ramp in to the lot...
Many times when I call out I'll have to dial 3 times before it goes through.
And I keep on hearing from people they tried calling me, yet I have no missed calls. Many callers don't leave a VM, so I won't even know they called!
Anyone else having this issue?
I submitted a claim a few week ago and this is what they responded...
"Thank you for contacting Google Fi Support!
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. I see that you are unable to make/receive the calls. I've checked your account details and it looks like your account status is fine and active with all the networks in sync.
However, I am glad to inform you that our engineering team has successfully investigated and resolved the ongoing issue! You should be able to use your services now without any interruption.
We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.
Hope this information helps!
If the issue still persists or you have any queries, please feel free to write back. You can always contact us via chat. We are available 24/7 and more than happy to help you.
Google Fi wishes you and your family, good health. Stay Safe!"
What a lame response! needless to say no change what so ever happened.
I'm wondering if other users in NYC are experiencing those issues as well.
