Try a global-yearly policy
Just make sure it doesn't have an active war exception

Yes, I confirmed with them, they cover Israel, just won't cover anything to do with war.

Yes....
You also need to read the trip validity fine print
Often each trip can only be max 31 days

In short do your research

Fill out online form on their website and request full PNR log

TK replied when pushed that operational reasons require them to pay ASL. They have a NEW term operational reasons beyond airlines control.

We would like to inform you that each and every feedback received is investigated with attention and care. Please be assured that every effort is made to meet the expectations within the scope of Passenger Rights and Carrier Regulations.

We've completed our investigation and we've found out that flight TK 791 Tel Aviv / Istanbul dated 11th of October, 2023 was canceled due to operational reasons at Tel Aviv Airport which is beyond airlines control.

Referring to your message, we'd like to kindly inform you that passengers are entitled with compensation in case of delays/cancellations with operational or technical reasons under airline control in line with international civil aviation rules and procedures.

Although we have completed all our flight preparations, unfortunately certain irregularities may happen beyond our control. Since the irregularity that took place on your flight was caused by the reasons beyond our control, we have to inform you that we cannot pay the compensation you claim.

P.S. I don't rely want them to pay ASL I want them to say it was canceled for security/war so I can get trip interruption covarge to payout.
Without written confirmation from TK, the only proof I have that the cancellation wasn't for 'operational reasons' is

https://x.com/yhyustun/status/1711782354165883209  used the word 'situation'
and

I've never had any issues with Traveler Insured, it should be easy to get them to pay whatever they should. What are you trying to get that you aren't currently?

We were scheduled to return with TK from TLV on Oct 11.

We opened a claim for 'trip interruption' for the new tickets we purchased. The analyst came back saying this it not an 'interruption' but rather a 'delay' as the airline classified it as 'operational reasons'.

trip interruption = 150% of cost
trip delay = $200 a day

my return cost was $1500-1850 per pax

Traveler Insured said I need to provide proof this was trip interruption

this is the relevant policy doc

Huh, that is really dumb. Did you try calling? How long can a "delay" be? They can't call it a delay if it was cancelled for more than a day. I think you really need HUCA.

I got a call back from the analyst handling it. She was very strong and told me not to tell her how things are to be classified as she "works there for 8 years and knows what she's doing"

No

Under 'Trip Delay' I only get $200 a day (up to 5) for expenses we had while being delayed. We would not get anything for booking a new ticket.

Get DOT/MOT involved preferably formally
Allege deception and violation of the RICO act as they are conspiring with their internal companies to not operate without disclosing who is responsible

My friends flight from NY to Mia was diverted to SC and had to stay at hotel over night. Who should he claim his expenses with? Cc insurance or airline?
The reason for diversion was a mechanical issue

start with airline. Definitely simpler process

1. I have tickets to EY for pesach with Turkish. They aren't flying but are giving me a very hard time with the refund (I suspect that since I bought an extra seat, the system doesn't allow the reps to do the refund). Already spent way too much time on it. I just filed a claim with Berkshire. What are the chances of them covering this?

2. I bought new tickets. Trying to buy insurance via InsureMyTrip.com but it can't find any plans for me. My guess is that it's because of the war. Which companies currently still offer coverage to Israel? (I'm sure this was discussed earlier in this thread/on DDF but really would rather not go through hundreds of posts if somebody knows the answer already).

TIA
