Netanyahu to Biden: "If necessary, we will fight even with our fingernails."

President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a conversation for over an hour and a half last Monday, during which the American president warned Netanyahu that the United States would halt arms shipments to the IDF if Israel entered Rafah. According to sources familiar with the details, Netanyahu responded, "If necessary, we will fight even with our fingernails." This was reported today (Thursday) on Channel 13 News.

During the conversation, Biden expressed his concern about the operation in Rafah before the evacuation of the population - despite Netanyahu's assurance that the operation would not be implemented before the evacuation. Biden vehemently opposed the move.

Earlier today, Netanyahu posted an excerpt in English from his speech at the Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony at Yad Vashem, where he spoke about the world's failure to respond to the horrors of the Holocaust. He posted the excerpt on his personal and official account, just hours after President Biden's statement about halting arms shipments to Israel if the operation in Rafah escalates.

"Eighty years ago, during the Holocaust, the Jews were defenseless against those seeking to destroy them. No country came to their aid. Today we are once again facing an enemy calling for our destruction. I say to the leaders of the world – no pressure or decision in an international forum will stop us from defending ourselves," Netanyahu said in his speech.

"As the Prime Minister of Israel, the one and only state of the Jewish people, I promise today from Jerusalem, on Holocaust Remembrance Day – if Israel is forced to stand alone, it will stand alone. But we know we are not alone. Many people around the world support us. We will defeat our enemies seeking to commit murder. Not now, not ever," Netanyahu concluded.
