This is it in a nutshell. Our intelligence agencies are not flawless but I will believe them over Putin. Others here including Trump believe Putin.

I will repeat my opinion (which IINM I stated somewhere upthread) that this entire election cycle (and beyond) is a sign from above for people to stop trusting one person or another, or think that if only this or that will happen, all will be OK (or the reverse).

The report DID say that they did not hack election machines. This means that while they may have influenced how peole voted they did not change the results from what the voters chose. That can also be called not influencing the result of the election and makes sense as part of a politicians statement.

The reports says it made no assessment. If he is basing the statement on the assessment then he lied. He has a pattern of out right lies.

that lie was much more consequential as was the lie about the IRS targeting conservative groups and Hillary endangering national security with her carelessness about emails.

Lets give Trump credit for one thing. Looks like so far he has not disputed the assessment that it was Russia behind the attacks. Maybe he is finally pulling his head out of the sand and hopefully the Trumpsters here will follow.

Many of the sore-losers are trying to delegitimize him, he has all the right in the world to fend off their constant attacks.
If he wants to be a productive president he needs to know how to fight back.
Fight fire with fire. Don't dish it if you can't take it.
Obama did the same thing, fighting back constantly, calling out many people by name.
It never mattered because the left cheered him on every time vs making it a big deal when Trump does the exact same thing.

I hate to play the "8D chess" card, but you'll notice that most of the conversation over the last few months has been about things that most people couldn't care less about, leaving him free to appoint whomever he wants without people paying much attention to it.

I think it's likely that he does these things because he can't stop himself, but it seems to be working out for him...

He's basically taking the Obama team's "stray voltage" idea to the next level.
