"Apple is the same as Tesla"
"How so?"
"Apple does what it feels customers would truly want without listening to their complaints."
"But Tesla has their CEO literally answer nobodies and implement their suggestions"
"That's just because Tesla is different to Apple"
" "
"You have to sacrifice features to get 'bleeding edge'"
"I didn't sacrifice anything"
"but my wife's steering wheel"
Alright, I’ll bite. Apple and Tesla both:
Are aspirational brands
Dominated their market early, though didnt invent them
Do not compete on price but rather try to differentiate themselves from a crowded marketplace by virtue alone
Have very high brand recognition and loyalty
Charge a premium for their products because of their advantages and brand power
Have messaging and decisions that point to a greater good, not just their bottom line
A few off the top of my head, along with the ones listed previously.
Would love to hear the counterarguments.
