Chase Hyatt Visa Spending For Status
« on: January 15, 2022, 10:04:43 PM »
I find myself in an unusual situation predicated by some bad planning on my part. Anyway here is the situation I spent enough at the end of 2021 to earn 2 final EQN. I’m just waiting for my statement to close and the 2 EQN will be backdated and bump me up to 31 nights for 2021, enough for Globalist. Here is where my issue comes in, part of the spend that helped me reach those 2 final EQN are from deposits I made at Caesars Palace for stays I no longer think will be taking place. Caesars will refund the deposits but that will dip me about $60 below where I need to be in 2021 spending transactions. The possible saving grace is that I can delay the refunds until August. By then I would have had Globalist status for 7 months. Would chase really reverse the 2 elite nights in 2021 and then repost them in 2022? Would Hyatt really downgrade me to Explorist 8 months into the year? Any thoughts, ideas, or personal experiences to help in this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Delay as long as is practicable. I'd bet should be good once awarded.

Unlike here at Amex, Chase is less strict. Once they post the refunds won't matter. The same for Chase SUB's.

My chase Hyatt card is due the 8th every month and closes the 11th.

Spending done in December that closes Jan 11. Where would those 2 nights post ? 2022 or 2023?

I'm at 50 now and need to calculate spend in reaching globalist for 2023

Chase states that any spend done by dec 31 would apply to that year in terms of qualifying nights
