If the 17-inch model is registered to the Asset Tag, you're good to go. In the unlikely event that they do contact you, mention that it would be an extreme inconvenience to switch to a different system when you've been doing so much work on this system.
If the 15-inch model is registered to the Asset Tag, I doubt they'll contact you, but you might have trouble using the warranty
