I know someone who had it done again as a teenager. (After he'd been at a mikva, he was told by a mohel to check his bris. )
So in his case the thing you only do once is go to the mikva when a mohel is there.
To put things in perspective, imagine you are a diamond cutter for eg, I'm sure you would always be checking out diamond cuts... To compare etc. Same in any vocation.

I hope you are not checking everyone's accounting
Um yes actually.. for a while when I was heavily involved in audit, I found myself mentally underlining errors and discrepancies all over the place...
Remind me to lock my files next time you come over
If you were a builder wouldn’t you check other builders work ?I was once in a car with a very successful business owner & driving down 13th ave. he’d slow down as we’d pass his competition to see what they had on display. It’s just nature
In a good thread it may not be just lox. It can be hot smoked salmon.
+1, took the words out of my fingers
Judging from the symbol beneath your avatar you may not realize this so I will just let you know... that is so far from normal conduct that it sounds like some silly joke that teenagers tell about "a guy once went to the mikveh...." If it is true, then it is seriously it's disturbing. There'd have to be a whole lot more explanation to this.
Per my brief discussion with a very popular mohel a few years ago, redo's later in life are much more common the we would think.
Does that mean so many were done wrong or does something happen over the years ?
