Such a shame a good program like SPG has to blow it like this. In one shot a huge change on both the cash and points portion.

Its inevitable.
And at least its not as bad (yet) as yesterday's Mariott devaluation.
Let's see what their new list looks like when it comes out next month.

Frankly it has been so hard to find C&P in recent years that it's less of a shame than it would have been 5 years ago.

Supposedly this is supposed to help convince the hotels to open up more C&P. we'll see....

Now that the hotels make more off C and P it wouldn't surprise me if it does become more available.

I think it was just a intro to now announcing alot of hotels aregoing up in catagory in a few days, or simply announcing that a cat 4 now costs 12k

If they were going to bump up all point redemption amts, I'd have assumed they'd announce it at the same time as the C&P changes.
But w/ the PC, Wyndham, and Marriot devaluations, I'm curious to see how this update turns out.

Seems to be better availability for Cash and Points since the change, although of course its a less attractive option now.

SPG has been updating some previously booked C&P stays to be according to the higher rate. Some sort of IT glitch.
They've told me that it won't effect what needs to be paid, but you may want to verify.

the LMDS releases only a set amount of rooms to spg (only the king executive rooms) so in high season they could sell those rooms for cash.
I doubt they will change anything
