I found this online, I dont know if its anything as its way over my head but I figured I would share it.
It's really easy to get access to most websites without paying for inflight wifi. You can get to most Google services (using HTTPS only) by changing your hosts file so that all Google services get routed to one of the IP addresses for
https://www.google.com, which you should be able to get to without touching your hosts file or paying for wifi. Here's a sample hosts file entry:
74.125.225.210 google-analytics.com doubleclick.net plus.google.com youtube.com mail.google.com chatenabled.mail.google.com ssl.gstatic.com voice.google.com jttm-server-prox.appspot.com support.google.com maps.gstatic.com khms0.google.com khms1.google.com mts0.google.com mts1.google.com ajax.googleapis.com bpui0.google.com code.google.com googleusercontent.com lh3.googleusercontent.com lh4.googleusercontent.com lh5.googleusercontent.com t.doc-0-0-sj.sj.googleusercontent.com csi.gstatic.com gstatic.com drive.google.com accounts.google.com docs.google.com s.ytimg.com i2.ytimg.com i3.ytimg.com pagead2.googlesyndication.com googletagservices.com c.youtube.com clients1.google.com tc.v14.cache4.c.youtube.com tools.google.com dl.google.com sendacallfromsanta.com latitude.google.com maps-api-ssl.google.com mts0.googleapis.com mts1.googleapis.com maps.googleapis.com mail-attachment.googleusercontent.com
Then use a Google-hosted proxy, such as
https://jttm-server-prox. appspot.com, to access sites that use like Wikipedia or Lifehacker. Note that this proxy does not allow POST requests, so you won't be able to use it to get on Facebook, for example.
Yes, it's slightly evil, but who likes paying for pricey inflight wifi? I never pay for WiFi... Say Nono to Gogo!
