Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

I just applied for the Chase United credit card. I'm just wondering - are the points it gives UR points, or united points?

This may not be quite a beginner question, more like advanced beginner, but what exactly happens when you don't use a plane ticket (as in buying a third leg to bring down price)

They hunt you down and take you back to where you started out. Not serious.
What do mean by what happens? You won't get the miles maybe.

MR points are showing as pending. When do they post? Also how soon after meeting spend req do points post?

They won't post until the next statement (not the upcoming one). You can chat to have them post immediately.

I'm not sure what your second question is. They show pending a few days after you meet the req. They will post with the next batch that posts.
For some reason amex likes to make you wait for your points. Regular spend points instead of posting with the statement, show as pending for a full cycle and then only post the following statement.

Can you use an Amazon GC for amazon subscribe & save items like diapers?  When I tried to change the payment type I didn't see the gift card that I had uploaded onto the account.

Any thoughts?

I had a similar problem with Amazon Payments, I added my billing address to the card and then it showed up

A family member of mine is running after me - since she's traveling quite often to London - I should advise her which cards to apply for so she could get some miles to use for her flights to London,

I'm still having fun collecting a lot of points and miles but have little experience in flight booking so I'm not sure which option would work for her best,

Should she go for United ( SP, UMPE) or rather for BA or maybe SPG, Amex gold?

Please help me get her off my head ^-^
