I'm sure it's similar, but with a massive sign up push, they might be bringing on too many people relative to the amount they have saved for very expensive procedures.
Also, a lot of my concerns would be with any health share. I'm not sure they are the best coverage for people who are uncomfortable relying on them to pay a big claim. They don't seem to share the same level of legal liability as an insurance company to pay claims.
Simply put, healthshare is NOT insurance. Anyone posting here with concerns about it not covering or not paying, should probably not participate (except if augmented with a catastrophic plan - I believe I posted in the Obamacare thread what I believe
might be a workaround to gain eligibility for those over 30) as the entire point of insurance is to CAP the risk and give peace of mind based on the maximum out of pocket figure.
That is not to say that healthshares are bad. They might be excellent in controlling and pooling costs, but as far as I understand there is no cap on the outlier risk.
