Just got email from Amex with promo code for no purchase fees for GC's its EMADMCM1. You have to purchase with Amec CC.

Thanx.
Probably should be posted here as well

Update: I just did this a few days ago so it still works - they still accept debit card.

The benefit of using a debit card over a checking account number, is that the payment posts instantly.
any additional fees to pay this way?
What about debit card transaction fees?

No and no. I didn't see the statement yet but I believe it shows up as a purchase.

Back to the Amex Target card;
There's a 1k load max per day and $3 per load, so if I have 2 $500 GC's can I have the cashier at Target key in $1000 then pay with the 2 GC's like slitting a transaction normally with two forms of payment?

Most sites stop offering CB. The ones that do it is like a buck (maybe two) a card. With fees and shipping not worth it. Best option might be using the Amex 6% card in store.

Why the difference between visa/mc and Amex? And are there sites that sell for less than +1%?

Sorry, not following what you are asking.
1. Why is there cb for amex but not visa gc?
2. Is there any way to purchase gc's (preferably online) for less than 1% more than face value?

1 – Some sites use to give 1-1.5% on Visa GC’s but that is long gone. Amex is just generous I guess.
2 – Not that I am aware of but I haven’t looked in some time.

you definitely can't go and get cash outright but perhaps if you try to do a debit transaction there might be a cash back option, but I'm not sure about that.

Im super frustrated right now. I once put an AMEX gc order through. 21 days later I attempted again saying it was blocked bc " Your order exceeded limits either by quantity, dollar value, or both for the allowed time period". I find this very surprising because the limit is 6k every 14 days. Anyhow I then ordered on the business section and it was denied bc  " We were unable to verify the order information you provided", and supervisor told me that it was denied bc I submitted a SSN and not a tax id. When I explained to him that it was bc it's sole proprietorship and it is my business ID, all he would do is suggest I order on the personal side. I then ordered again on the personal side and was told it was denied bc. When I called again they told me to reorder which I did and then it was once again denied bc "Your order was not fulfilled for the following reasons: Your order exceeded limits either by quantity, dollar value, or both for the allowed time period."

I then called and the first rep just reads back the email, and then his supervisor tells me that it's MC that is blocking it and they have a GC limit?!?!?!?! I then told him that it's complete BS and I'm sick of hearing different excuses and please get me someone who can help. He had my number down (first insisting that he can't take a number down in case we get disconnected, something all the other reps and supervisors did) and then after 25 min on hold somehow I get disconnected.

Help!!!!

Welcome to the world of Amex GC’s. The limit on the personal side is 5k unless they have changed it recently.

Most of the times when this happens it means a ban but they won't tell you that. I would wait the full 14 days (15 to be safe) and try again.
