Exposure is a misconception. People are only contagious for a brief period which can be less than a day or non existent. Even if exposed to 10 positive patients the likelihood that one of them was in their contagious period is low. There is zero excuse for risking other people’s health by going to shul with Covid. I’m in the middle of going over the machzor to mark what to say since I’m davening at home after spending considerable time with somebody who tested positive shortly thereafter
