The 4k spend requirement went into effect back in November.

This is going to make me sound like a n00b but I just was looking over my sibling's account and I realized that I only spent 3k instead of 4k. The 3 months were over a couple of weeks ago. Has anyone ever had success extending the time period?

Never heard of people getting extended, but you can try your luck.

I'll admit that I'm somewhat a beginner when it comes to credit cards and utilizing their benefits.... I did spend several hours looking through this forum, and have not found the answers to my questions. I'm sure they're somewhere, but would appreciate if someone could help me here...  I'm trying to figure out if I should close my chase sapphire visa account after using my miles. When will I be eligible for a new sapphire card? Also, is it possible to use multiple browsers to open several cards at once, with Chase? Also, I believe I got the most for selling my sapphire points, as opposed to my other points, which did not sell as well. Is that so? If one is not looking to travel, but wants to cash the miles, is chase sapphire the best way to go?  I think I'm basically signing up for credit cards for their sign-up bonuses, as I don't seem to enjoy the other benefits/perks of the cards...

A lot of questions in here and i will try to get to most of them.

You can try and downgrade your Sapphire to a Freedom and apply for the Sapphire again at a later time. There is no official time limit, but just be prepared to answer the question "why did you just close this card" if done too soon.

There is the ability to apply for multiple Chase cards in one day and it is referred to as a 2/3/4BM or an MBM. You should read up a little how that works. Though it does seem Chase is getting a little stricter on approving multiple cards.
Chase UR are among the more valuable points, but as mentioned above, if you can get multiple cards on the same day, even if not UR, it is almost free money.

You can find decent money in Amex MR points as well.

Thanks for your help! Just making sure I understand- the purpose of downgrading would be so that I could now open a sapphire again? Why shouldn't I just close it?

You are on the right track with your thinking. You can do that as well. Benefit of downgrading (specifically to a Freedom) is that it has no annual fee thus enabling you to start a long account history with them without ever having to worry about "paying up" each year, Freedom gets you great quarterly bonuses and you can get yourself a Sapphire Preferred ahain.
