Please don't mind my rant, I don't post often here but this has been bothering me for a while. It seems like yeshiva and girls school schedules were made 30 - 40 years ago, when the avreage frum mother did not work. Back in those days, giving kids days off, whether it was chanuka, erev yom tov, mid winter vacation etc. just meant that mommy stayed home with the kids while totty was at work. In today's world, I think it would safe to assume that more than 50% of mothers with young kids in school do work. How do they expect us to hold down decent jobs to afford tuition while having 10+ off days from school? Are we expected to pay for mini day camps that charge $40+ per child? Can someone please explain to me how this is supposed to work?
