Is there such an app and which is the best, to make 1800 calls from outside the US on my android tablet?
If you have a GV account, you can use GrooveIP.

Is there any reason not to have amzn app store installed, does it use battery or something?
It does use data.

was just thinking the same thing recently

As elikay said, it does use data. Also, for those that have older and/or cheaper phones that don't have a lot of memory, it can be just a space saving technique (if you're rooted and on a supporting rom you can install [the real] app2sd, much better then the built in "move to SD" feature).

It doesn't cost money to call Us and Canada. However, AFAIK, you can't sign up unless you're in the US or Canada, or use a proxy.

For us & canada it's free. The credit is for international. & you could get it refunded within the year, I think.
