1 - Depends how much of the budget (percentage wise) 9 billion is.
ETA: one number I found for total state spending in higher ed is $311 billion (in 2019). That means that a $9 billion cut is about 3%. Are tuitions increases higher than 3%?

2 - They have a choice. They can cut costs or increase tuition. If the customers (i.e. students) have easy money available to borrow, that decreases the pressure on the school to keep the prices low.

How about a source for claiming somehow student loan relief causes tuition to go up.

If funding goes down 9 billion only and idiot would believe it doesn't cause tuition to go up. This is just one of many reasons tuition has gone up.

To say that Biden is fair for making some people pay for the student loans of others while saying that a student is unethical for anticipating debt forgiveness and borrowing instead of paying out of pocket is so ridiculous that I doubt Bill Watterson even thought it worthy of highlighting such a notion.

The R's are screaming how unfair the student debit relief is. Are they screaming about all the tax credits for children? Isn't that unfair to people without kids? There are a hundred different examples I could give but for some reason I thought the child tax credit would be more fitting.

Subsidizing student debt incentivizes student debt. Subsidizing children incentivizes having children. Having children is good, student debt is not.

That might all be true or not, but the bottom line is they are giving money away free money and in either case it is not fair to have to pay for something you get nothing out of.

Like I said there are hundreds of examples, but we have selective outrage from the right. The left is no better.
