Crazy stat I saw last night...no team has ever got 7-0 or better on a road trip.
Not crazy at all. First of all, that particular stat is stupid and arbitrary. The exact stat is that no team has ever been unbeaten on a single road trip of 7 games or longer. However, in a given year, a team won't even necessarily have a single road trip of 7 games or longer. If you look at the warriors, for example, they've had one 7 game road trip every other year over the last 5-10 years. But maybe more importantly, it's not surprising because it's a lot of factors stacking against you. It's at least a little harder to win on the road overall. Add to that the fact that a road trip starts taking a toll the longer it goes. If every team had one such road trip every year, statistically speaking it would be pretty surprising if we didn't have an unbeaten 7 game road trip. But the sheer number of opportunities is much smaller than one might think.
Also, the Spurs won 8 in a row on a single road trip in '03 - the inaugural Rode Road Trip - but the lost the first game of the trip (it was a 9 game trip), so they're disqualified.
