Then there is no hope...:(
I didn't have much anyway. Again, I don't need Citi but Citi needs customers. It's true it hurt my credit that they closed down my cards. However in the long run I'd rather bank at an institution that is not practically owned by the feds.

so far it seams like the triggers are high utilization and abnormal charges was anyone who was closed by citi had a citi checking  and if so did thy make some abnormal deposits as well (maybe when thy know you regular spending/deposits thy get more suspicious)

I had no abnormal deposits. Some here reported they didn't have high utilization either...

Well I'm sure AMEX is enjoying the transferred spending....
The major issues with Amex removing AA club access and citi closing the executive cards you now can't get into the AA lounges.

As the saying goes, don't **** where you eat.

If it wasn't clear until now, it's now painfully obvious that you don't bank where you have your CC's.
Operation choke point is targeting bank accounts, and in general that's where most of the regulatory focus is. With Chase you're severely increasing your CC shutdown risk if you play with your bank account, and with Citi it seems that that having a checking account with them was a condition for shutdown scrutiny.

I personally have a MS checking account at a bank that doesn't have any CC's I wouldn't be embarrasses to carry.

Sounds nice but I dont have a Citi bank account and was shut down. I know other people as well who dont have Citi bank accounts and were shut down.

It's the difference between running across a side street without looking or a highway with speeding traffic.
You might survive the highway and might get hit on the side street , but by banking where you have your CC's, you're increasing your risk exponentially with no significant reward.

If you had a low risk investment and a high risk investment with the same return, which one would you pick?

Sorry that makes no sense.
You could argue that they shutdown both CC and checking when there is checking abuse, but just cc?
