Floridians run because we recognize the danger of a storm, no storm is ever underwhelming. We are thankful it missed us, it could have taken a last minute turn and destroyed south florida c'v
I mean the hype of 185 mph winds and larger than andrew scared me, my apartment roof sucks and we couldnt even find the shutters for my bedroom window
But, few people in south florida would die from a direct hit of a 185 mph storm, if you have a sturdy house and not in a flood prone area etc you'd be ok though its VERY VERY SCARY. I still remember the sound of the howling winds andrew made.
I chose not to go back mostly because itsmisrable to be stuck indoor for a day or 2 then no power for a few more days as the city is still closed.
