I think today is a good day in the Amex office. This must be my 10th try, sent an SM about 5894 (Didnt even spend the $500!!!!)

Read the email below, I think I got very lucky on this one. This is for the Premier Gold Card and I was only asking to match the 75K offer, but AMEX is so amazing that they seem to be wanting to give out free points even if you don't ask!!!

did u try matching the 75k with 5748 or did he offer you the 5748 and mention that its for the premium gold card, (until now we thought its only for the platinum.)

Do you have a platinum card as well? He might of gotten them mixed up if you do. Did you send an SM for your gold card specifically asking for bonus ID 5748 just to test if they would give it to you on the gold card?

I do have a Platinum on the same account. I selected the Gold Card when sending the message but it could be they did not realize. In the past, they have sent me email regarding my wife's account since we were using the same email address, so it is possible they got confused between the cards.
Anyway, I am happy as they have just posted 85,000 points to my account and I should have the other 15,000 in a few weeks

I think they got your request mixed up, as 5748 is a Platinum code. Be prepared for them to correct their mistake if they find out. (They probably won't though)

I did receive the bonus for the platinum. So far 50,000 and waiting for the other 50,000 to post, they did assure me it will.

They probably did get mixed up, but I doubt they will catch on. The rep that authorizes it does not actually post it. She sent it to a different dept and they posted it so it passed through both departments.

Okay I felt dumb for thinking that it was $1,000 especially when reviewing this thread. But then a friend called today and rep said $1,000 spend requirement?!

i just called amex early this A.M. --told me 5748 was good till Sept 23

and today applied 4 the card based on that ---was approved !-- will UPS the card tomorrow --after i get it BUT b4 i spend will call in to up it TO 100,000 i do not expect to have any problem

PS -- FYI---they did tell me 5999 biz plat was expired --my notes showed good till Oct 10 2011

Did they say when 5999 Biz Plat expired? and if there was a new code for Biz Plat?
