Really?? The real thing is just getting started, twice as long! What's the reason for Chabad not saying on עשי׳׳ת?

I'll wait for a Chabdnik to give more insight and when this started. There is much more emphasis in Shulchan Oruch and poskim to say on עשי׳׳ת than before.

I'm surprised you didn't know this. Also, by the Polishe it's not really longer.

I probably picked it up already on this very thread but I keep forgetting, this is literally going in circles :)

Based on my knowledge of Chabad, it's either the Alter Rebbe, R' Hiller Particher, or like Napoleon.

Even ExGingi wouldn’t consider Napoleon a Lubavitcher :P

Yup. Needs to be Jewish (though there might be some exceptions, such as the late Charles P. Sifton).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Guy with trimmed beard asks me after shachris this morning, "Uh, did I miss slichos, what time was it supposed to start?"

You're omitting the punchline, what was his reaction like when you said slichos is over already? ;)

What I do not understand about this eating in the sukah thing is that the way Iv'e seen this explained is that:
https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/4128852/jewish/Why-Stay-in-the-Sukkah-When-It-is-Raining.htm
Quote
The weather may be a little unpleasant, it may be a little squashy in there, and your palm allergy may be flaring up...but the inner serenity, the love and feeling of connection with those around you, the sense of being embraced by G‑d—all that should override any physical discomfort.
Yet people in this thread have complained that it is no fun etc. If they are in fact bothered, doesn't that negate the whole explanation of why they eat outside? Or more accurately why they would be "allowed" to eat outside? Or is the complaints just the physical aspects which are truthfully outweighed by the sheer joy?
Isn't it a little difficult to employ this minhag as a one size fits all when it would seem to necessitate a pre existing spiritual level in order to be halachikly compliant?
Is this addressed anywhere? I would appreciate a link.

This should be easy to understand. People are willing to endure pain, suffering, hardship and difficulties in pursuing a goal. The pleasure of reaching the goal makes the hardships of getting there meaningless. Or on a deeper level, the greater the hardship the greater the pleasure.

Wouldn't you be willing to endure hardships in order to get to אנא ומלכא בלחודוהי?  :P
