So total spent on electric is both of those numbers, or is the $991 included in the $1,298.35? If the former, it seems you paid about $0.14/mile. Does that sound right?

4,958*.20 = $991.60 paid

991.6÷16,175 = 0.06/mile

I have no clue how you got the 0.14/mile number

I was calculating the total of the 2 numbers. Seems like averaging gas at $3 and 20mpg, seems like your cost vs gas would be ~$0.15 for gas and ~$0.06 for electric. I like that because I an punch my personal numbers in to see my savings (if gas/electric is much more/less by me)

Okay I understand

For reference my previous car was taking premium gas and getting about 10 miles per gallon
So it is a huge difference for me

Precisely why I was asking for the details Some people are getting gas at $1.75 and 30mpg, others are getting gas for $5 and 9mpg.

I drive a 2020 Acadia and get about 10mpg. I don't use premium, but I do almost exclusively do city driving. Also, that probably shouldn't be the cars efficiency number, as my wife probably spends a lot of time idling the car which greatly hurts that average. I should calculate my actual consumption VS my milage like @Shmulie did to get a real stat

FYI I don't drive very efficiently (love the Tesla acceleration) and winter driving efficiency is much worse, although I think the newer models added a heat pump which helps significantly

I think Tesla bases range on 250wh/mi

Looks like my average is 307wh/mi and that's with me trying to drive more efficiently

I do not, what exactly is the benefit. I remember I looked into it when I first got the car but I don't remember much about it

Tesla is way more efficient at idling.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Sitting with the heat on in the winter kills my range

Lots of fun stats, plus it can potentially get you out of a ticket with the driving history.

I suppose that will depend if it saves you from getting a BS speeding ticket. Free trial either way.

I got pulled over by a cop who said a plane clocked me at 91. I was cruising at 79 in a 70 zone. Still got a ticket, but didn't get points.
