@aygart's observation in my mind (with the writer seemingly so short-sighted, to put things mildly).
Netanyahu has created (and now almost totally cementes) a totally different paradigm in dealing with Arab countries - compartmentalizing (and virtually marginalizing) the "Palestinian issue". In order to allow those Arab countries to save face, he announces some extreme "anti Palestinian" measure, which he never intended to implement in the current environment (and Trump wisely put as part of the comprehensive deal, to be implemented only alongside all other parts), so he can "put it on hold" in exchange for opening up another country (where the locals mostly have no issue with Israel, Israelis or Jews, and quiet cooperation has been going on for years) to open fully normal relations (and very different from Jordan an Egypt - who have agreements based on the old paradigm, where the populace isn't interested in peace or acceptance of Israel and Israelis, while the rulers understand that peace and cooperation is at their best interest, and they are forced to juggle and appease their populace).
